I must be THE luckiest IT manager on the face of the Earth! Over a hundred Optiplex's with no significant problems in the last 3 years. Oh sure, a CD drive here, maybe one or two hard drives over the same time (but both had pre-failure warnings so no biggie). I think a couple of flat panels were replaced. Wow, what a catastrophe! You must have had a new tech on that RAID call. First of all, all their US enterprise support is based in the US. They did at one time ship it overseas, but the howls caused them to bring it back to the US. In the 2 instances over the last 3 years that I had a server hard drive go bad, I never had a problem with tech support...the luck just keeps on going I guess. Just as you call Dell garbage and POS, I would base my similar criticism against IBM the same way.
