Kinda agree...
I don't know what your problem is with Dell, but they make pretty good machines for their price range. We have a Dimension 8200 (had it for over 3 years now) and an Insiron (got it about 2 years ago), and both comps are working just fine.

I know one thing for sure: You still get what you pay for. If you pay 500 bucks for a computer, you get just that. A $499 computer.

The reason Dell is moving into the high-end market is because the rest of the market is flooded. At this point, there is very little reason to upgrade for most people. People who spend over 3k on a desktop comp are usually more concerned about image than performance and tend to have more money than brains. With the costs Dell probably pays for the parts, they could make good profits milking the dumb.
