All the more reason for Sony support
What's particularly silly about Sony's battle with hackers, is if they gave them a legit method to produce their own homebrew software (one that allowed them to prevent users from stripping out copy protection), they wouldn't have to worry about it.

As a side note, isn't piracy on the PSP a little ridiculous? I mean, you can't make your own UMDs, so that means buying some pretty expensive memory sticks. UMDs can hold 1.8GB, so you'd need a 2GB memory stick PER GAME. If anything, it would be far more expensive, and less flexible than just buying the games yourself, and Sony could ensure that, by making sure games made for the PSP spread their data across the whole UMD, even if they don't use it all.
