I'm pretty sure it's Dell not willing to train its staffing
especially on the upswing of building call centers and outsourcing, to have to troubleshoot another OS as widely as their "recommends". But they made a choice to support one format, but half az'd a growing player in both the server and embedded markets that could have and does have appeal to the consumer level. Probably too unwieldy for them to support enmasse. Don't step up to the plate, just sidestep and see where the market goes vs leading. Making Dell can support both Blu Ray and HD DVD, just a lot less for one over the other.
