Happens to all companies
When you depend on component supplier (like all computer
companies do) you also depend on their quality control to keep
components up to standard.

Apple found out just what the problem was and the reason for the
problem. They will provide replacement iPods and charge the
component supplier for the cost. Just as important is that Apple
will make it clear that the problem should not happen in the future.
