It's more than just cosmetic stratches
Within one hour of getting my nano and putting my music on it,
the front was scratched to the point where it is difficult to read
the screen unless you're in a dimly-lit room. Forget about it in
daylight.

My crime? I slid it into my "change" pocket of my Levis, just like
Mr. Jobs did during his keynote. No coins, no keys nothign else
in there--although I should be able to keep the nano in a pocket
WITH other things without losing functionality due to scratching.

You can argue over whether or not its a design flaw all you want,
but the whole experience put a huge dent in my post-purchase
satisfaction, and that's not good for any company.

There were no screen protectors or cases or anything available
when they came out, and for the money they could have easily
included one. What would that cost, $5 per unit? No, we have to
wait until they go on sale to buy a sewn piece of $5 neoprene for
$40.

At the minimum they could have thrown in the headphones with
the lanyard WITH the nano, instead of charging an outrageous
$40+ dollars for what is essentially their standard earbud set
with some string.
