More than anything else, this is commentary about how the one-trick-pony devices like the Palm are faring against more robust telephone/PDA/handheld devices.

An aside: when PDA's are the size of a credit card, and most of that is screen, and it understands speech rather than requiring the use of some lame stylus and never understands my chicken scrawl, THEN I'll think about owning one of them.
