Yes, they would have felt great horror and other emotions
to watch the flight fail completely in resulting deaths, if televised and available for them to watch onboard, maybe even inciting negative reactions, but it is a chance taken by freely airing such info. The news is all very willing to present everything to everybody equally and without flinching, so JetBlue has taken a course to be open and unflinching. I'd probably not monitored the progress if onboard, . . but, I'd rather be sedated and out cold before boarding a plane in the first place.
