Using the Information and Critical Thinking
Previous posters have made excellent points. I would only add that even with the wealth of knowledge (biased or otherwise) available to us, very few people seem to know how to access it or fail to even try to access it.

On most of the listserves I'm on, people repeatedly ask for info that is easily found on the web by performing a simple search. And, they are people who should know how to do a search given the groups they are in.

So, does more information make us more intelligent? No. Finding out the information is available and how to access it is intelligent. It's just another tool we can use. But availability of information or boundless information is also no measure of intelligence. While not mutually exclusive, they are not necessarily mutually inclusive.
