I DID IT!
hate tv and got rid of the hdtv, $100 dish bill etc. july of 2004 and I echo both your thoughts. When I grew up tv was free other than cost of hardware and juice. You had a few channels that you watched a few hours a week. Fast forward to today and what hollywood proudly ask us to pay for is real honest to goodness horse$h*t. Computers and the internet are the place to be because you can select what you want when you want it. Geeks are doing it now plus internet shoppers, phone users and all the other industry sectors that are booming because of www. except for hollystupid log jamed because of hardware and software issues. I will leave you with someone elses thoughts on the future...

Recipe For Bankrukptcy:
10 LBS of Whorthless media.
3 Tbs of Macrovision.
A Sprig of DRM.
1 Cup of Blue Ray.
One Finely Chopped Intel Processer With a Fritz Chip INSIDE!!
A Couple of Monitors that Don't Work.
Mix together.
Add A Bunch of Angry Consumers. (Suit To Taste)>
Pour into a Toilet.
And VIOLA!! You WILL Be Outa Buisness.
Try it!
U Gonna LOVE It.
