Pity.
The T3 was a nice device (with a metal case, no less!), though chucking in an underpowered battery wasn't. Then came the T5 which had a nice battery but lacked the vibration mechanism, slider, metal case (moved to cheap plastic with a metal veneer) PalmOS 6, and lots of other things while adding in Flash ROM (whose limited lifespan and slower access rates are actually a step DOWN).

Never mind Palm's support...

Or how I heard rumors that Palm wanted to sell a (get this) PocketPC device. (that's not a good way to instill confidence into your once-loyal customer base...)

A pity PocketPC is more bloated and prone to viruses (as is Windows itself), but it's more proof that a monopoly licensing its software to everyone isn't going to be the one who dies off. The IT world IS Microsoft.
