Very Sad
Maybe I've been dreaming this or something but didn't a few other companies come out with "all singing, all dancing" phones about 3 years ago and have been trying to do so on and off ever since without much success? People don't really care about convergence otherwise there would have been greater take up of previous attempts

But wait! .... Jobs has said it's good so it must be!!!!! Even God is going to get one for Xmas (he has a line straight to Jobs so he doesn't have to queue - in return God makes people think the IPod is the best invention ever)

Many of the previous gadget phone incarnations I seem to remember being far more "function" packed than having the seal of approval from Jobs as to their limited music capabilities.

I maybe a grumpy old man but what is it with all these sad people who have to have the latest gadget just because someone says it's "cool". I picked up a useful MP3 player for $20 a few years back. Not only does it have MP3 play back capability, it can also play the superior OGG and WMA formats (better sound quality for less disk space - who wants that - not me), it takes CF cards up to 4GB (solid state) which is kind of handy given my camera does as well and when I put it in my pocket it looks just like an IPod.

It's true .... the world would be dull without being able to say a $20 piece of cr*p was an IPod - I take it all back. But please get a life while I'm doing that.
