Apple makes products that people want...
Apple isn't always that innovative when it comes to the iPods, several companies are more inovative and throw all kinds of features on their devices. What Apple makes are products that people want. Uber geeks can rail against them for not have video and all those other features, but 80% of the buying public doesn't want, nor care about those features. Apple makes a simple and elegant device for the general buying public. Most of the Uber geeks can't comprehend this.
