No, they've been threatened with an extremely vague lawsuit,
and offered a cash payment to get out of it. There is no "plea
bargaining" in a lawsuit, by the way. And if the person wins, the
RIAA is responsible for their court costs. Should be a fun trial,
but I doubt the RIAA is foolish enough to let it go that far.
Watch, they'll drop it like a hot potato.

Not true. Sony is already working on their own p2p network,
and already offer all of their music for subscribers of the
Playlouder ISP. Subscribers are allowed to share all Sony music:

Sony is wise enough to realize that p2p is the future, and at
least they're trying to find a way to profit from it. Smart
company.
