BattleNet delivers ads to players. I don't use BattleNet so I don't know what kinds of ads those are, but they are obviously of some value to Blizzard.

If they are cross-selling their own products, that's marketing they don't have to pay others to carry. If they are carrying normal ads from outside their game universe, then it is a simple revenue stream.

In either case, Blizzard is being denied the ability to deliver these ads.

This seems to be a minor point, however... Blizzard's primary concern seems to be that the private hosts let pirated copies of the games onto the network.
