Remember Apple's GUI and Windows Lawsuit?
It's strange isn't it? Microsoft and Apple battled it out in court
during the 80's over Microsoft's clear rip-off of Apple's GUI (one
need only read a few pages of the book "Barbarians Led by Bill
Gates; Microsoft from the Inside" to establish that fact). And, of
course, Microsoft's army of litigators won --- even though
Apple clearly owned the intellectual property rights to the Mac
GUI!

Now, comes the iPod - another revoloutionary computing device
- and Microsoft is hoping that its own supposed patent will hold
up under scrutiny and support Microsoft's flimsy claims of
ownership. Please...give me a break! Can you hear the
whispering from Microsoft's direction;

"MicroPod, MicroPod, MicroPod!"

Microsoft knows it will never be able to make claim to any past
or future holdings of the iPod. They're just trying to protect
themselves against the continuing decay of their position in the
MP3 market by "weaseling" the rights to copy yet another Apple
product.
