Not really lost revenue
The cell phone industry refers to this as lost revenue. it was not revenue to start with. Although snippets may have been copied, there is no indication that those who copied them would actually pay for them. I for one refuse to pay for a ring tone that cost $5 to make and is sold to thousands at $1 a pop.
