Actually...

The kiddies - and adults and everyone else and their dog - want
it because it works and is well-designed. End of story, really.

There were MP3 players before the iPod - I looked at bunch
before the iPod had even been invented. But none of them were
any good. Too big, too heavy, too damned annoying to use. I
simply didn't want one. Then I saw the iPod (long before they
became cool). Too expensive, I thought. Picked it up. Used it.
Bought it. Like I say, end of story.

This Creative machine will fail, just like the other ill-advised
attempts to unseat the iPod by giving consumers something they
don't want.

Lemmee - a smaller, lighter MP3 player with twice the capacity
for the same price as a larger, heavier device with half the
capacity. Plus the small one is cool.

Well, gee. That was hard choice. Video? On a screen I can cover
with two thumbs? Puhleeese.
