Good as the market was, it could have been better, particularly in the US. Microsoft licensees already had the largest share of the market, but newer products in this category are key to making the whole market grow even faster.

I don't think Microsoft is going to make the same mistakes as Palm did, nor allow their licensees to make such mistakes in the future, either.

Now that the challenge is in moving product and not in gaining a foothold for software, I think this will be a growth sector.
