Stole this from Microsoft...
My rep told me that Apple obviously stole this from Microsoft. I have long mandated the sole use of Microsoft mouse devices in my company. I have long blocked Logitech mice from this environment as it contradicts our Microsoft "anywhere everywhere everytime anytime" motto. My rep told me Microsoft was working on a 3 dimensional mouse where the cursor would appear to "jump out" at the user. There are hooks for this in Windows Vista. My rep gave me a demo over lunch the other day and we followed it up with a mouse workshop after dinner.
