Au contraire mon merde?
You are the one who continually makes wild claims that prove
false or misleading.

Where did I "put my foot in my mouth"?

>>> Actually Bill Gates visited XPARC at about the same time as
Steve Jobs and was working on a GUI before Apple released
theirs. >>>

From your link? Jobs at PARC ? '79, Gates '80? a full years
head start for Apple, plus, there were many differences in the
basic Xerox GUI and what would become the Mac. (Windows 1
looked more like the Xerox GUI? no overlapping windows, etc)

Apple paid Xerox ("In 1979 Apple Computer allowed Xerox to
buy a million dollars of Apple stock in exchange for allowing a
few key Apple people - including Steve Jobs - to view inside the
Xerox PARC and talk to the think tank people for a limited
time.") for it's view of the GUI, Gates basically stole?
"innovated", the Mac GUI.

Your proof Gates/MS was working on a GUI before Apple?

>>> Whether or not Microsoft patterned theirs after Apple is
pure speculation. >>>

Only in your deluded world.

Gates/MS had unfortunate but necessary access to Mac code in
order to create some of the first Mac software; Gates liked what
he saw and wanted to use some of the code in Windows on
threat of stopping development of Mac apps (much as he later
threatened Apple into dropping Quicktime for Windows ("knife
the QT baby?") or he'd stop Office for Mac!?)

Just like Gates and the rewrite and re-release of his book (Road
Ahead) where he basically ignored the Internet then had to
revise the book to show how with-it and Internet-savvy MS
supposedly was.

" So when IBM announced its personal computer in 1981, the
Apple people were dismayed both at how bad it was technically
- and how well it sold. Even Microsoft - who had come up with
the operating system for it and the Basic language, also knew at
the time how much better a personal computer should really be.
"

The story of MS and Windows? crap & mediocrity sells.

You've at least learned how to create revisionist history from the
pros.
