I think that only enhances Apple's standings
Apple can't take advantage of the huge bandwagon effect that
Windows has. So many people buy a PC like the one their
friends/relatives have. So many companies buy a PC like the
ones used by other businesses. The sales numbers of the Wintel
manufacturers are fed by these types of purchases, not to
mention the power of MS' marketing and other ways they've
used in the past to tilt the field in their way.

So Apple, despite all of these advantages they lack, is #4 in the
US, and #6 worldwide. That's pretty impressive.
