Remember Forgent suing over JPEG patents?
This takes me back to a few years ago when Forgent tried suing hardware vendors and camera companies left and right for supposed patent infringement over the JPEG image format.

This has become the modus operandi of the new generation, with companies like Rambus, SCO/Caldera and Forgent. We can expect to see many more such cases in future, unless the brain dead USPTO cleans up its act. The whole concept of patents has been turned on its head thanks to incompetent laws, rules and regulations.
