Lots is wrong with that
Judging by the cost of tuition and all that subsidized by government grants.

This isn't the same as going to one of those private tech colleges and getting 5 course on whatever. In that case I'm paying the full price. But if it's government subsidized they should off service for MAC user for example and not just limit to Windows.

As in your example this can be done quite easily. If they use exchange then set up the webmail component for students, something most universities already do. Problem solved. Access mail using Firefox on Linux or Safari on a Mac.
