I may be wrong but
from what I've read, there are some real issues with the 64 bit version of XP. HW manufacturers are waiting to see if it flies before investing in 64 bit drivers. And there are not a lot of apps compiled for 64 bit windows either. I can understand the dual core but why bother putting windows on a 64 bit machine? I know there are some linux bashers out there but wouldn't it make more sense to run an OS that can be 100% 64 bit? The only thing on my linux box that runs in 32 bit mode is Quake 3
