They did make a couple based on the Athlon 64 3200+
a few months ago. I bought one in March, the 816GE I believe it was. Took it home and it was dead on arrival, wouldn't even POST. Gateway offered to fix it if I would haul it to FedEx myself and wait 10 days to get my brand new computer fixed. After laughing a little, I took it back to the store and got a HP with the same specs for $100 less.
Won't be looking at Gateway again too soon.
