Your are still replacing the drum on the HP, you just are forced to replace it every time. Since the drum can last 3 times longer than the toner, why should you have the expense of replacing it every time the toner runs out? If you figure in the cost of replacing the Brother drum unit every third toner, you will find that the cost per page is still about half of the HPs similar model. Add that to the fact that the Brother is much lower cost up front, and you have a real bargain.
