First and foremost I am not a fundamentalist! I use reason and Logic when I interpet the teachings of my faith. I believe life begins when the womens egg is fertelized by the males sperm. Prior to that there is not the components required to procreate. So I am for birth control to prevent unwanted births. I also believe that once you passed that point any intervention that prevents the birth of the child is murder with one exception. When the life of the mother is threatened by the pregnancy then the more viable and established life form, (the mother) should take precedence. So Jim, when you say that you would not try to stop a woman from having an abortion because she is the only one involved you are dead wrong. The unborn baby is also very much involved. You always claim that humans should not have god like powers is inconsistent with your stance on abortion. What is more God like then determining who should live and who should die. So if it takes stem cells from a fertilized egg to save your life then you are playing God. Your saying your life even though it is in jeapordy is more important then an unborn babies who might otherwise healthy.
There are many forms of birth control and there is always abstinance. Accidental pregnancy is rare. What isn't rare is people taking responsibility for their actions. Abortion is about it being inconvenient for the woman to have the baby after she couldn't be bothered about preventing it.
