Sadly, "God" doesn't have much to do with it....

Religion is generally a matter of convenience, power, and the almightly dollar.

For example, the "religious" Christians would have you believe that their God "created the heavens and earth" for us. Basically, our planet is a gift from God. These are the same people that tell us abortion is wrong. These are also the people that ignore the fact that we are well on our way to making this planet a miserable place to live. Air quality, water quality, fewer species of life and overpopulation are significant problems now but we haven't seen anything yet. Basically, this "gift" from God is being urinated on by most of those that profess themselves to be Christians. The same is true of other religions.

Why the contrast between abortion and planetary destruction? There is basically little connection between abortion and convenience, power or money. OTOH, destroying the planet is ALL about convenience, power and/or money. Plain and simple. Nothing mysterious about it at all. That's basically what religion comes down to.

So, if you are wondering if digital monitoring will ever become commonplace, just ask yourself if it involves convenience, power and/or money. If so, the answer is likely yes. What God thinks won't likely matter.
