Lexus or Dell: Well First Things First!
I own a Lexus and I also own several Dell desktops and a Dell laptop. While I am pleased with the hardware that I have received from Dell; the service...that is the people service is not in the Lexus league. On the two occasions (actually very comendable for the number of PCs I have and the length of time that I have own several of them) that I have had to have a technician out to work on my hardware, Bantec did an outstanding job and on time. The problem and the very UN-Lexus like service is whenever I try to call Dell. I live in Nevada and we are on Pacific Standard Time, if I call Dell during their posted business hours why don't I get a service center that speaks understandable English. I understand that Dell is now a global company but routing for service calls should be handled a lot more intelligently especially in this day of application switching. The number of menus and the droning computer voice is enough to make you scream.

Dell might take a lession from American Express; whenever AMEX needs to transfer you to a different department the person stays with you on the phone, makes the introduction, and only hands you off when you are sure you are finished with them. That is similar to the treatment that you get with Lexus. I have owned several automobiles and Lexus is the only dealer I am comfortable enough with to allow my wife to take the car to if I am not available. Even when we have taken the car in for warrenty work Lexus makes sure we have transportation with a loner vehicle and our car is always returned cleaned and without surprise charges. I tell you it is the CUSTOMER SERVICE first, then the fact that Lexus has fine vehicles.

I am obviously a big Dell fan, and say so with my wallet. Dell hardware is already top notch but inorder for Dell to compare themselves with Lexus, Dell will have to up the customer service a few notches.
