RE: "ITguy doesnt really know anything about Dell"
Not to mention the fact IT Guy means that he's not a real IT guy. I don't know what company would want a IT staff guy to do build your owns when that means that buying the parts individually has the following problems:

1) It now costs more to build computers from parts then to buy one whole

2) Buying parts always means your not getting the same setup and configuration as opposed to buying a whole PC from a company like Dell, HP, etc... that means more different drivers that you have to support, troubleshooting is different. This makes you loose a lot of work time at the office, that's not efficient

3) Yes you can build your own for the office, or have some 3rd part vendor who is not an OEM build them, but as soon as they or that company is gone so is the support. And it just so happens that most 3rd party vendors for general computer use only use OEM boxes like Dell or HP

I don't know where this guy gets off calling himself an ITGuy when he has no idea about the effieciency and pratical portions of OEM computers. Do you seriously think 1 IT person is going to support 40-200 computers that are all custom build computers and find the time to maintain them, know which drivers are for which as opposed to having 2-6 family lines of OEM PC's?

That's unreal and unpratical, and any company who hires anyone like that should be put out of business.

If you want to be serious and you want to be real in the IT business world, you have real companies like Dell making your life easier and making your work and efforts look great and long lasting.

""He has nothing to back up his statements, and he thinks everyone should build thier own computers.

He isnt much of an IT guy to think that way, or he doesnt know that 85% of Dell's sales are to business/government.""
