If you were just going to play horse, then this system would be ok - although I wonder about the satisfaction level for a blind player. Throwing a ball and making a basket and not seeing it would seem somewhat DULL to me. If you wanted to make it a team sport, you would need sound emitters on all players - probably from wrist bands so you could tell if someone close would steal the ball.
I must say it would be pretty satisfying to see a blind person out-shoot Shaq on free throws . . .
