Aren't you special
You also need software to read the DRM in the hardware to lock the file to that particular machine. If you try to play the file on another machine the software will compare the file to the DRM in the hardware on the second machine. No two files will be perfectly alike. If the hardware code is open sourced, which I doubt then linux could lock files. Longhorn is supposed to enhance all of this.
