You may be right . . .
And you certainly sound like you have a good handle on what DRM may evolve into. Again, until Linux embraces DRM completely in some form or fashion that protects the content providers, Linux's adoption in consumer devices will the constrained. Like it or not DRM is here to stay, even if the occassional country like France makes it illegal. We have a loooong way to go until the free monoculture OS breeds takes over intellectual / copyright ownership. To me the jury is not even close to beginning it's deliberations.
