California Already Charges For It - But Doesn't Do Anything
I bought a new monitor three weeks ago. They charged me an additional $8.32 fee that California now charges to help with recycling electronic waste.

I asked where to take the old monitor for recycling. The answer was no where. The local dump will take it for $40. But I just paid the state $8.32 to recycle the waste.

It feels slightly like extortion. Let's hope our greatly enlightened leaders in Washington (thank you for the national ID by the way) will do it better.
