Consoles with be dead in 10 years....
Considering console gaming is big business in the US,
within the next decade the US gaming market will look
very similar to Asia. More and more people in the US
are getting higher speed pipes and therefore online
gaming will put the console arena out of business. That
is why most of the major publishers are staying out of it.
The new companies that offer game engines for a
subscription cost will let everyone with talent be a game
developer and the best games that they create will
generate more $$$$ for the developer than the current
arrangement the publishers have with the developers.
It will be very cool. Imagine thousands of game
developers with a talent like director Kevin Smith
"Clerks" making vid games online on their $20K limit
credit card.
