Lots of news about low cost Linux devices. Windows does not work here.
People do not want the licensing hassles from Microsoft or the limited freedom. They also do not want to let Microsoft skim off all the profits. Combine that with the memory and processing requirements for Longhorn or even XP, and Microsoft is not even considered.
