HUH??
Of course Symbian "wanted" it..after Microjunk dangled enough greenbacks in front of their eyes.

Written like someone who's totally confused.

The object, according to the article, was to sell more Symbian based phones to corporations. I.E. Those who are running Exchange Server in house to handle their e-mail. So someone at Symbian got the bright idea that if they could make their phones sync with Exchange, they MIGHT stand a better chance of selling more of their phones to said corporations. And so, they licensed what they needed to build the tools needed to connect their phones from Microsoft.

Now, how and when exactly in this scenario does Microsoft dangle the greenbacks in front of Symban's faces? And why? MS has their own phone OS they would like to see implemented.

It would appear, per the article, that Symbian made the inital move to secure said licenses.

If anyone dangled currency in front of someone else's face, it would have been Symbian doing the dangling in Microsoft's face...
