Interesting discussion
I haven't read up on meshing algorithms, but I can imagine how to do it. Basically you sell every WiMAX router with a built-in IP(v6). You won't run out of IPs, so this scheme will work. That satisfies the IP requirement, now the ROUTING requirement is pretty tricky! Since access points can shut down at random, and circular routing is a possibility - How to do this? I suppose that the routing tables would be dynamic and cached somehow. I'm not the expert on routing, but I suppose some smart college kids can figure it out for a thesis. Just why do you think that you HAVE to have some telco running WiMAX?
