911 and Vonage
I signed up for Vonage in Jan. I believe that Vonage does a good job of letting new customers know that they have to "sign up" for 911 service. I signed up for Vonage online after buying a phone adaptor at a local store. Vonage makes it very clear that 911 is not automatic. They have it posted in my account information on line and also sent me emails when I first signed up. I feel bad for what happend, but I believe that you should know what you signed up for. Hopefully FCC, VOIP, and land line companies will agree on something soon for 911. I guess there are also some VOIP companies that offer E-911.
