Yep like yourself I've seen good bad etc

I dunno, maybe I can't get past my skepticism. I'm a minimalist when it comes to government btw. What I foresee happening is a city setting up some fashion of broadband access that will amount to a monopoly. What happens if say the telco wants to enter the market later? This just smells like the cable debacle I complain about. I see too many problems with this.

Oh let me give you some points that you earned. I too have seen some some munys do some great things. Example in point. I railed against a city golf course in a town I lived in. It became self supporting in 3 years and payed the taxpayers back 8 years later. Had to eat my hat on that one. It is possible that good can happen.
