the truth about AT&T failure
AT&T failed because they tried to do it all, and didn't have the management expertise to make it succeed. You don't succeed in business by acquiring overpriced assets, but they bought TCI for 10x it's real value (based on cash flow), then spent millions trying to upgrade the plant to handle telephone traffic, then sold it off to Comcast. They repeated this mistake with the acquisition of Cellular One, which they later spun off because they couldn't make the pieces fit together.
