Verizon, MCI link up in $6.7 billion merger

So much for breaking up Ma Bell: If this were the Bell system against cable and satelite instead of a few huge Baby Bells, how much difference would it make?

They're all following the same model, except Qwest and Southwest, so those'll disappear at some point.
