Nothing but GREED
That is NO LOGICAL reason why any of these companies need to merge. They use the EXCUSE of competition, etc., but it boils down to GREED. Why can't these companies just be happy with the money they are making at any given point? IF profits go down, then somebody is being over paid or poor management isn't keeping costs down.

At some point, the merged companies will be so large the Government will be forced to break them up AGAIN.
