Study: Home networking on shaky ground

Personally speaking only Tech Junkies would use this stuff

I'm a tech junckie, but i'm also savy about it at the same time. Most people don't want to bother to figure out this stuff, let alone pay for any kind of stuff that they know nothing about.

Me personally, i have a couple of Unmanaged network switches linking from the Basement to the Attic and 3 wireless access points to give coverage through the whole house and the backyard.

But i'm also a person that owns atleast 3-4 desktops, 2 notebooks and 2 wireless networked PDA devices.

Therefore i would have a need for home networking. But for most people who share 1 computer with a significant other or their kids that's all they really want.

Not to mention the costs involved with wired networking a higher because you have to have someone who knows how to install networking cableing, which usually means you have to hire an electrician. And wireless is a pain with areas you can get a signal too.

So i would honestly say that as many people that replied with a need for home networking really sounds kind of high to me.
