And the Internet continues to die.
From many, many small autonomous networks connected by many pipes to a few huge, unmanageable networks connected by few pipes, the Internet no longer resembles the Internet. Big business has changed its structure for the sake of greed. This is one reason there is so much trash on the net that can't be stopped. With fewer small networks, trojans and the like infect huge chunks instead of small segments. There are less boundries to cross. And only a few pipes and/or gateways need go down to sever connectivity between the few large networks. This making the once indestructable Internet a network easily comprimized.

We may have a puplic network, although it is trully a few private networks to generate big business dollars, but we do not have the Internet anymore.
