Orwellian Conquest: Responding to Rich: This isn't even a question about "worrying about being traced"... This is about a fundamental right to privacy. While initially this program offers regulatory and legal benefits for our government against foreigners, its inherency for function-creep to insidiously overtake the lives of our domestic population, via excessive governmental oversight and control, are apparent and (as history has proven) unavoidable. And combined with other current national ID initiatives, each citizen (regardless of whether or not they are "partaking" in anything illegal) could and would very easily find him/herself under the protective (read watchful, controlling) eyes of the government. Finally, if our President can so easily now bypass constitutional rights at will (regarding what's now re-termed the "Terrorist Surveillance Act"), what's to stop him or any other governmental agency/authority from abusing this power?; Posted by: newlightexp Posted on: 02/19/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
