Well in my experience it does do the lightning show
and scars up the interior but the microwave continued to work
for years after I did it. I used a "Little Liton" and being young,
drunk and not paying any attention to what I was doing cooked
some raviolie (Chef Boyardie) with a spoon still in the bowl. Cool
light show still while the microwave was scared on the insdie
from the lightning...it still worked just fine.
