Stick with a Gig Switch if you need speed.
Like I said with WiMax, unless you?re mobile you?re better off with physical media.
It?s more secure, faster, and has greater potential.

This is even more applicable to WiFi than it is to WiMax, the only reason you should want a wireless access point is if you have a Laptop or WiFi phone, and even then it?s much more of a convenience than a need.

I?ve got 3 WiFi points within range of my living room, all unsecured. If I had any desire I could get free broadband and access to all information my neighbors care to pass across their network, including possible access to information on the computer itself. And that?s nothing compared to what can happen if I wanted to park in the parking lot of a large company with a WiFi network. I could pull SSN?s and addresses of hundreds of people depending on how attentive the IT staff is (and it?s usually pretty poor in my experience). If I chose to release that info to the parties affected the business could be facing crippling lawsuits.

Even at 100Mbps WiFi is just catching up to regular Fast Ethernet, and Fast Ethernet is fading fast in the face of Gigabit Ethernet. So once again it?s more effective to just run cable to your computer and make use of 10 times the speed of this new WiFi standard.

The ironic thing is that since Linksys mainly caters to home users you know there are people out there that will buy this because they think it will make their internet access faster. When you get 1Mbps of DSL the wireless router isn?t your bottleneck.
