Feds move on wireless Web, cell phones in flight

About time: There's no logical reason why cell phones or other wireless devics can't be used on a plane or in a hospital. Aside from keeping down cell yell problems.

Hell, I deployed a wireless network in a few hospitals and placed antenna's right next to signs that say "No wireless devices permitted".

The mao clinic did a cellular interference study with medical equipment and only found one early generation cell phone that interfered with a piece of equipment when the phone was placed 1/4" away from one of the corners. Who's going to do that in normal practice.

As for the airlines they respond out of fear and perpetuate the fear to their customers.
