About time
There's no logical reason why cell phones or other wireless devics can't be used on a plane or in a hospital. Aside from keeping down cell yell problems.

Hell, I deployed a wireless network in a few hospitals and placed antenna's right next to signs that say "No wireless devices permitted".

The mao clinic did a cellular interference study with medical equipment and only found one early generation cell phone that interfered with a piece of equipment when the phone was placed 1/4" away from one of the corners. Who's going to do that in normal practice.

As for the airlines they respond out of fear and perpetuate the fear to their customers. They have no facts and can't answer simple questions as to why we cannot use a standard non-wireless palm pilot on take off or ladning.
